India to Invite Taiwan and Singapore Institutes for Semiconductor Training Centers
The government plans to bring Taiwan's ITRI and Singapore's A*STAR to India to set up semiconductor training branches.
India intends to partner with Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute and Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research to establish training campuses for semiconductor engineers and shop-floor workers. The goal is to create a steady talent pool that chip manufacturers can hire directly. Sources say the move is part of broader efforts to boost the domestic chip ecosystem.
Why it matters
Building local chip talent reduces reliance on imports and supports India's growing semiconductor industry.
