India to Transfer Tejas Trainers, HTT-40 Jets and Dhruv NG Helicopters to IAF

On September 18, a ceremony in Bengaluru will mark the transfer of HAL's Tejas trainer planes, HTT-40 aircraft and Dhruv NG helicopters to the Indian Air Force and the civilian operator Pawan Hans. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu will be on the podium, joined by Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha and HAL Chairman Ravi K. Officials highlighted the handover as evidence of India's growing ability to design, develop and manufacture aerospace platforms domestically.
The ministry said the induction will bolster national aerospace capacity and cut reliance on foreign suppliers. Attendees will also include senior representatives from the defence and civil aviation ministries, regulatory bodies and industry partners.
