The Indian Air Force will conduct the second edition of Exercise Tarang Shakti in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from late September to mid-October, featuring joint aerial drills with several partner nations.
The Indian Air Force announced that it will host the second edition of Exercise Tarang Shakti at Jodhpur in Rajasthan, running from September 26 to October 12. This multinational air exercise aims to unite air forces from a range of allied nations for joint tactical operations, training and interoperability drills. The 2026 edition builds on the inaugural 2024 exercise, which was held in two phases at Sulur in Tamil Nadu and Jodhpur, and saw participation from countries such as Australia, Bangladesh, France, Germany, Greece, Singapore, Spain, the UAE, the UK and the US.
The upcoming drill follows the India-Japan air combat exercise Veer Guardian 2026, which wrapped up on September 22 at the same base. Officials highlight that the exercise will enable participants to exchange operational practices, understand each other's tactics and mission-planning approaches, and allow the IAF to showcase its indigenous and frontline aircraft alongside foreign platforms.
Why it matters
The drill enhances cooperation and interoperability among allied air forces, strengthening regional security ties.
