Indian Army chief visits Russia to boost artillery modernisation and training ties
Indian Army chief General Dhiraj Seth spent three days in Russia meeting senior military leaders to advance artillery upgrades and training cooperation.
General Dhiraj Seth, chief of the Indian Army, conducted a three-day visit to Russia aimed at strengthening defence cooperation. In Moscow he held talks with Deputy Defence Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, covering joint capability development, professional military exchanges and broader engagement. At the Russian Land Forces headquarters he exchanged views on contemporary military trends and ways to deepen training and experience sharing between the two armies.
His itinerary continued to St. Petersburg, where he inspected the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy, discussed artillery modernisation and training methods, and was invited to fire the traditional cannon at the Peter and Paul Fortress. The mission underscored enduring trust between India and Russia and a commitment to sustained military diplomacy.
