Nine of India's ten most valuable companies saw their combined market cap rise by ₹3.65 trillion last week, driven by gains in TCS, Bharti Airtel and Infosys, as the Sensex and Nifty posted strong weekly jumps.
Over the last trading week, nine of India’s ten most valuable companies collectively added ₹3.65 trillion to their market capitalisation, led by Tata Consultancy Services, Bharti Airtel and Infosys. The BSE Sensex surged 2,256.94 points, roughly a 3.1 % gain, and the NSE Nifty jumped 625.7 points, about 2.8 %, marking the strongest weekly performance in roughly six months. Ponmudi R, chief executive of Enrich Money, linked the rally to a sharp rebound in information-technology stocks after encouraging September-quarter results, supported by fresh buying in several heavyweight equities.
Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance and Life Insurance Corporation also saw notable valuation increases, whereas Larsen & Toubro experienced a decline of ₹9,232.26 crore. Reliance remains the most valuable domestic firm, followed by Bharti Airtel and the major banks. The broad-based uplift underscores a bullish sentiment across Indian equities.
