Indian listed startups generate Rs 25,000 crore in bulk stake sales for investors

Listed Indian startups sold bulk stakes worth about Rs 25,000 crore in July-September, giving venture-capital and private-equity firms a way to return capital while many kept large positions.

An analysis of NSE and BSE block-and-bulk disclosures for 18 newer-age firms shows investors such as SoftBank Group, Peak XV Partners, Elevation Capital and Accel sold stakes totaling roughly Rs 25,000 crore between July and September. The transactions provide exit routes for venture-capital and private-equity funds, yet several investors retained sizable holdings in the companies.
