Indian national charged with meth trafficking and illegal gun possession at California pizza shop

The Department of Justice announced that Kawal Preet Singh, a 50-year-old Indian national residing illegally in the U.S., has been indicted on federal drug and firearms charges. According to court filings, Singh operated a Round Table Pizza outlet in Dinuba, California, where he allegedly sold wholesale amounts of methamphetamine while carrying prohibited firearms. A federal grand jury returned counts of distribution, intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.

On August 18, agents from the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations executed search warrants, confiscating more than 40 pounds of meth, three guns and over $10,000 in cash. The indictment is part of a larger investigation targeting organized Indian criminal networks in the Central Valley. Prosecutors warned that the drug-trafficking charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years, up to life, and the firearm charge adds a consecutive minimum of five years, also up to life, plus a possible $10 million fine. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
