Indiana football drops scheduled Notre Dame games to focus on future non-conference slate
Indiana's football program has cancelled its planned 2030 and 2031 matchups with Notre Dame after requesting the removal of those games.
The Hoosiers originally agreed to face Notre Dame in 2030 and 2031, a deal made during Tom Allen's tenure as head coach. Both contests have now been scrapped at Indiana's request, according to reports. Notre Dame will instead revive its rivalry series with USC. The decision follows recent cancellations of series with Louisville and Virginia by Indiana.
Why it matters
Indiana's schedule shift affects future matchups and revenue for both schools and alters Notre Dame's rivalry plans.
