Indiana investigators probe husband’s fatal stair fall and issue arrest warrant for wife
Police in New Haven, Indiana, re-examined the death of Kevin Davis after an autopsy raised doubts about a stair-fall, leading to a murder warrant for his wife Alison Davis.
On the morning of August 12, 2023, Kevin Davis was discovered with extensive blood at the base of a steep stairway in the home he shared with his wife Alison Davis in New Haven, Indiana, and was rushed to Parkview Regional Medical Center where he later died. First responders noted no obvious head lacerations, and a subsequent autopsy reported internal injuries that police said were inconsistent with a typical stair fall.
Detective James Krueger, who led the investigation, concluded the scene warranted a homicide inquiry and focused on Alison Davis as the suspect. After obtaining a search warrant, officers collected phones and other evidence from the residence. A murder arrest warrant was issued, and Alison Davis surrendered to authorities at the Allen County Jail with her parents present.
