India’s BSE and NSE pause trading on Sept 14 for Ganesh Chaturthi holiday

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed for trading on Monday, Sept 14, in observance of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, suspending activity in equities, derivatives and securities-lending segments. This adds to the standard weekend closures on Sept 12 and 13, resulting in three straight days without market operations. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also not conduct its morning session from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the holiday.

Regular market hours—pre-open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and trading from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—resume on Tuesday, Sept 15.
