IndiGo flight hits tail on landing at Bengaluru airport, DGCA launches investigation

IndiGo flight 6E 6542, departing from Guwahati for Bengaluru, experienced a tail-strike on landing at Kempegowda International Airport amid gusty weather, an event the carrier described as an "Abnormal Runway Contact." All passengers and crew were unharmed and left the aircraft without incident. The airline promptly notified the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, which has begun a formal investigation and ordered the aircraft to undergo maintenance inspections before clearance for further flights.

This occurrence adds to a series of recent IndiGo incidents, including a technical snag on a Dreamliner returning to London Heathrow and a smoke warning that forced a diversion to Lucknow earlier this month.
