Indonesia affirms compliance with ASEAN Level-3 haze alert and daily fire response reporting

Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced full compliance with ASEAN mechanisms under the Level 3 alert for regional haze, submitting daily reports that detail monitoring, hotspot counts, smoke movement and emergency response actions. Spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said the reports, accompanied by trajectory maps, are distributed to each ASEAN member's focal points to support anticipatory measures. A second spokesperson, Yvonne Mewengkang, confirmed that no protest notes have been received from any neighboring state.

Satellite data from SiPongi recorded 1,037 high-confidence hotspots nationwide, a drop of 400 from the previous day. The haze has reached Malaysia's Sabah and Sarawak, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines, including Manila. Japan deployed three helicopters for firefighting between September 12-19, and Malaysia has expressed readiness to send aid, awaiting Jakarta's reply.
