Indonesia allocates Rp 17 trillion to build integrated livestock hubs

The Agriculture Ministry disclosed a Rp 17 trillion investment to develop an integrated livestock industry across Indonesia, targeting stronger domestic supplies of chicken, eggs and milk. The initiative implements President Prabowo Subianto’s order to enhance food security by connecting feed manufacturing, day-old chick production, poultry and egg farms, as well as dairy cattle and milk processing. Five pilot zones - Lampung, East Java, South Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara and Gorontalo - are expected to have feed factories, DOC facilities and related infrastructure ready by next year, with full completion aimed for 2027.

The president has already approved Rp 2.2 trillion for the initial five sites, while the broader budget covers additional phases. Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman confirmed that administrative and budgeting steps are finished for the first locations.
