Indonesia pitches 32 infrastructure projects to Japanese investors, valued at about $12.5 billion
Indonesia has presented 32 strategic infrastructure projects worth roughly $12.5 billion to Japanese firms, covering transport, housing, ports and more.
At the Indonesia-Japan Transportation and Infrastructure Business Forum, officials offered 32 strategic projects valued at an indicative Rp207.64 trillion (about US$12.5 billion) to Japanese investors. The portfolio, assembled by nine state- and region-owned enterprises, spans toll roads, housing townships, commercial real estate, rail and transit-oriented developments, ports, logistics hubs and steel fabrication. Deputy Ferry Irawan explained that the projects are curated to invite Japanese collaboration and bolster infrastructure ahead of the country’s 8 percent growth target for 2029.
He noted that the economy grew 5.61 percent in the first half of 2026, with inflation at 3.34 percent and realized investment exceeding Rp1,010 trillion. The forum, organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, also referenced Japan’s existing involvement in the Jakarta MRT and Patimban Port.
