Coordinating Minister Zulkifli Hasan announced early measures to boost food logistics, distribution and rice assistance for the upcoming holiday season and Ramadan.
In a meeting on October 26, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan outlined an early-year plan to ensure sufficient food supplies for the December holidays and the February Ramadan fast. The strategy focuses on strengthening logistics, distribution networks and strategic reserves. Rice assistance will be delivered to 33.2 million beneficiary families, providing 10 kg each month for the last three months of 2026, amounting to about 1 million tons in total.
The effort involves the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and the State Logistics Agency (Bulog). Additionally, the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program will maintain the market price of rice at Rp12,500 per kilogram. Officials emphasized that these steps are intended to stabilize prices and guarantee reliable supplies throughout the year-end period and beyond.
