Indonesia's ISEF 2026 posts record Islamic financing and trade commitments
The 2026 Indonesia Sharia Economic Forum recorded Rp2.6 trillion in Sharia financing and Rp558.4 billion in trade deals, alongside significant halal retail sales.
The central bank’s flagship Indonesia Sharia Economic Forum, staged between October 14 and 18, drew roughly 93,000 attendees and engaged 26.5 million people through digital and media channels. Over 1,000 halal-industry stakeholders, including MSMEs, financial institutions and investors, signed agreements amounting to Rp2.6 trillion in Sharia-compliant financing and Rp558.4 billion in trade commitments. The event also recorded Rp13.85 billion in halal food and modest-fashion retail sales and Rp6.05 trillion in Islamic money-market and foreign-exchange transaction commitments.
Deputy Governor Solikin M. Juhro highlighted the need to channel these funds into productive sectors and to mobilize zakat and waqf for community empowerment. He outlined three pillars: integrating the halal value chain, expanding Sharia financing through innovation, and boosting financial literacy via digital transformation.
Why it matters
The forum’s record deals signal rapid growth of Indonesia’s Islamic economy, affecting finance, trade and inclusive development.
