Indonesia's state-owned firms post record net profit of Rp214.9 trillion in early 2026
Combined net profit of Indonesia's state-owned enterprises rose to Rp214.9 trillion for January-August 2026, up Rp33.4 trillion from the same period last year.
During the C-Suite session of the Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum in Jakarta, Oskaria, who leads the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency, presented the latest financial results for Indonesia's state-owned companies. Net profit for the sector climbed to Rp214.9 trillion in the January-August 2026 period, an increase of Rp33.4 trillion compared with the same timeframe in 2025. The sector's annualised return on equity rose to 8.0%, up from 7.4% a year earlier, reflecting stronger returns on shareholders' equity.
The surge was driven by reforms to business models, cost structures and governance, with PT Semen Indonesia posting a 427% profit rise, while Pupuk Indonesia, Danareksa, PTPN III, Pertamina, Pelindo, BTN and Bank Mandiri also reported double-digit growth. Oskaria said the higher profitability will boost dividend income for Danantara, enhancing its capacity to fund strategic-sector investments and support job creation in Indonesia.
Why it matters
Higher SOE profits increase government dividend revenue, enabling more investment in strategic sectors and job growth.
