Indonesia's UI seeks cyber-AI partnership with Russian firm via Sakuranesia

Universitas Indonesia's Data Science Center announced a collaboration with Russia's Positive Technologies, facilitated by the Sakuranesia Society, to boost cybersecurity and AI training for students.

At a meeting arranged by the Sakuranesia Society, Universitas Indonesia's FMIPA Data Science Center announced a joint initiative with Positive Technologies, a Russian cybersecurity firm. Center head Alhadi Bustamam emphasized that modern security systems increasingly rely on AI, creating opportunities for university-industry collaboration. The cooperation is intended to provide Indonesian lecturers and students with authentic case studies and best practices in cyber defense.

Sakuranesia founder Tovic R stressed that building dependable digital talent in cybersecurity and AI is a top priority for Indonesia and promised to develop concrete programs for both students and faculty. Alexander Udalov, director of International Channels and Educational Programs at Positive Technologies, confirmed the company's willingness to share its knowledge, citing a regional demand for more cybersecurity experts. The effort also seeks to strengthen research ties between Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Russia.
