Indonesian Parliament and Government Push Agrarian Reform Bill to Next Deliberation Stage

In a parliamentary meeting chaired by Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the DPR and the government reached consensus to forward the Agrarian Reform Regulation Bill to level-II deliberation. Ahmad Iman Sukri, head of the Working Committee (Panja) for the bill, submitted a List of Problem Inventory containing 596 items for joint review, emphasizing extensive discussion and openness to civil society input. The bill's content was structured into 14 chapters and 53 articles covering conflict resolution, land-rights restoration, redistribution, ownership caps, and the reinforcement of agrarian reform bodies.

After each political faction presented its stance, all participants approved advancing the legislation. The next step will occur at the DPR's sixth plenary session on September 22, where the bill will be debated further.
