Industrial production prices climb across euro zone and EU in July
Eurostat data show that industrial production prices increased both year-on-year and month-on-month in the euro area and the EU during July.
According to Eurostat, industrial production prices rose in July across both the euro area and the European Union, showing upward movement against the same month a year earlier and against June. The report highlights that Ireland, Lithuania and Bulgaria posted the largest year-on-year increases among the member states, while Luxembourg recorded a fall. On a month-to-month basis, the biggest gains were seen in Ireland, Spain, Italy and Cyprus, whereas Estonia, Finland and Sweden saw their prices decline.
Portugal also experienced a rise in both year-on-year and month-to-month terms. The data provide a snapshot of price pressure within the manufacturing sector across the region.
