Infamous child murderer Bevan Spencer von Einem dies of metastatic lung cancer in prison
Bevan Spencer von Einem, serving a life term for the 1983 killing of 15-year-old Richard Kelvin, died in custody from lung cancer, a coroner confirmed.
The coroner’s report shows von Einem was diagnosed with lung cancer in September and succumbed to metastatic disease in December while incarcerated. He was 79 and had been serving a life sentence for the murder of Richard Kelvin in 1983. Authorities continue to offer a $1 million reward for information that could lead to convictions of any accomplices in that case.
