Infant among eight family members killed in Tehran apartment strike
An airstrike on a Tehran apartment on March 18 killed eight members of the Rostami family, including a 20-day-old infant.
On March 18, an airstrike demolished an apartment block in Tehran's Pirouzi district, killing eight members of the Rostami family. Victims included Hannaneh Rostami, her 7-year-old son Mohammad Hassan, her 20-day-old newborn Mohammad Ali, and her brother Mehdi Rostami's household - his wife Manzar al-Sadat Zarrabadi and their three children, Ali (13), Fatemeh (9) and Zeynab (7). Hannaneh's husband Ali escaped death because he was away at the time.
Tehran fire department officials and rescue workers described the building as completely razed, with about 30 people overall perishing in the strike. The attack occurred amid a sustained campaign of U.S. and Israeli strikes that have resulted in tens of thousands of Iranian casualties since the conflict began in late February.
