Influencer Igho Ubiribo dies from pulmonary embolism after Thailand penis filler procedure

British-Nigerian influencer Igho Ubiribo, 43, received a 40-milliliter hyaluronic-acid and lidocaine injection for penis enlargement at a Thai clinic while on holiday with his wife Danielle Simba Allen. During a subsequent massage he complained of chest pain, lost consciousness twice, and was taken to Sukhumvit Hospital in Bangkok, where doctors identified a pulmonary embolism and attempted over 100 minutes of CPR before he died on March 6.

A London coroner’s inquest, supported by a post-mortem that found filler material in his lungs, ruled the embolism as the direct result of the cosmetic procedure. Ubiribo, who owned a $1.1 million Los Angeles home and a flat in Shepherds Bush, was buried in a gold coffin in London, attended by friends including singer Davido. The case highlights growing concerns over risky penis-filler surgeries, which the British Association of Urological Surgeons has warned against.
