Influencer's lavish social media posts lead to gold and cash robbery in Kanyakumari

Madhumita, an influencer from Kanyakumari, frequently uploaded reels flaunting gold jewellery, diamond accessories and piles of cash, even showering her child with money. Following a shopping outing, the family returned to find the bedroom almirah forced open and the valuables gone, including 120 gold sovereigns and Rs 50,000 in cash. Investigators noted that the burglars appeared to have used her social-media posts to plan the theft, striking while the house was vacant.

The police arrived, confirmed a forced entry through the rear door, and the Superintendent of Police visited the scene. Five special investigation teams have been deployed to track down the culprits, and authorities are reviewing Madhumita's online activity as part of the probe.
