Influential MAGA figure declares movement dead amid Trump’s broken promises

Nick Fuentes, a white-supremacist and Christian nationalist who has long championed the MAGA cause, declared the movement dead on Monday, attributing its demise to Donald Trump’s broken promises on immigration, Iran and the Epstein investigation. Fuentes warned that the collapse is suffocating any potential new far-right movement while the “populist left” gathers energy. He pointed to a wave of high-profile MAGA breakaways over the past year, including Alex Jones, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, who cite Trump’s handling of the Epstein files, immigration stance and willingness to wage war as betrayals of “America First.”

The Republican Party is also in turmoil, with midterm polls showing a significant disadvantage linked to Trump’s decision to engage Iran, eroding its traditional advantage on economic and security issues. One outlet's polls indicate Democrats leading generic House ballots by seven points, the widest gap the network has recorded since 1996. Concurrently, left-leaning candidates such as New York mayoral winner Zoran Mamdani and Democratic Socialists like Claire Valdez, Darializa Avila-Chevalier and Abdul El-Sayed have achieved electoral successes across the country.
