Infosys grants average 70% Q1 bonus as staff await salary hike details

Infosys paid eligible staff an average performance bonus of 70% for the April-June quarter, while employees look for information on upcoming salary revisions.

Infosys, India's second-largest IT services company, awarded its eligible workforce an average bonus of 70% for the April-June period, with individual payouts varying between 65% and 80% based on job level and performance category. This figure mirrors the prior quarter's average but is about ten points lower than the same period last year. The company reported a 12% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 7,769 crore, even as it lowered its revenue growth guidance for the year.

Salary revision letters issued in February indicated most employees received raises of 5-8% tied to performance ratings. Further salary adjustments are expected to be rolled out in stages, with junior levels receiving changes within one to two months and senior staff slated for January 2027. The bonus distribution occurs as the sector faces weaker discretionary spending, macroeconomic uncertainty, and rapid AI-driven changes.

Why it matters

The bonus and pending salary hikes affect over 300,000 Infosys employees and signal broader trends in India's tech labor market.
