Ingebrigtsen dives for the line to secure fourth in Brussels Diamond League
Jakob Ingebrigtsen lunged across the finish line to claim fourth place in the 1500 m at the Diamond League final in Brussels.
At the Diamond League final in Brussels, Jakob Ingebrigtsen started the 1500 m race in front but fell back to fourth after being passed by several rivals, finishing with a season-best of 3:30.52. Cameron Myers of Australia took the win in 3:30.14, followed by Kenya’s Phanuel Koech and American Ethan Strand. Ingebrigtsen, who recently recovered from an Achilles issue and won European gold over 5000 m in Birmingham, expressed confidence about returning in a few months to challenge for victories.
Fellow Norwegian Amalie Iuel competed in her last Diamond League 400 m hurdles race, finishing last of eight. Other Norwegian athletes featured in the meet, including Sondre Guttormsen’s strong pole-vault showing and Tobias Grønstad’s seventh place in the 800 m. Karsten Warholm withdrew from the competition over a financial dispute.
