Inmate breaks handcuffs, assaults deputies and flees courthouse before being tasered

Timothy J. Reaggle, a 20-year-old from Wellsville, was sentenced to one year in prison and immediately attempted to flee the Columbiana County courthouse. He managed to free himself from his handcuffs, punched a deputy, and knocked a second deputy to the ground as he ran down a hallway toward the building’s exit. Video released by the sheriff’s office shows him sliding down the steps before deputies used a Taser to stop him.

The two deputies involved sustained broken bones and were later discharged from medical care. Reaggle remains in the county jail awaiting transport to state prison and faces additional charges, including assault on a police officer and felony escape.
