Inmate charged after assault leaves John Moroney prison guard hospitalized
A 21-year-old detainee has been formally accused of attacking a corrections officer at John Moroney Correctional Centre, who required hospital care.
The Public Services Association reported that its members are outraged after a guard was injured in July. An image released showed the 55-year-old officer with visible injuries. Police have now filed charges against the 21-year-old inmate, who will appear before Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday.
