Inmate Chris Watts Pursues Marriage to New Prison Pen Pal Lizzie Henderson
Convicted family murderer Chris Watts has applied to marry fellow inmate Lizzie Henderson while serving life sentences in Wisconsin.
Chris Watts, the man convicted of murdering his pregnant wife Shanann and their daughters Bella and Celeste, is seeking to marry again while behind bars at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin. He met Lizzie Henderson, a former Cleveland resident who moved to Wisconsin, through a pen-pal program and the two have jointly applied for a prison marriage. Racine County court documents indicate Henderson filed for a confidential legal name change in 2025.
In discussing the murders, Henderson expressed empathy but declined detailed comment, describing the events as "something harsh for anyone to experience." Her prior employment was listed at a Milwaukee-area Keller Williams Realty office, which confirmed she is no longer on staff. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections has not been contacted for comment.
