Inmate Confesses to Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend During WA Murder Trial

A prisoner admitted to fatally stabbing her former partner while police recorded the confession, and the case is now before the WA Supreme Court.

During the trial for the murder of Tara Marie Morrison, Hannah Louise Glover disclosed to a cellmate how she stabbed the victim multiple times at their Busselton residence. Police had placed a covert listening device in the cell, and the recorded confession was played before the WA Supreme Court. Glover and James Anthony Sorgiovanni, who are accused of the crime, have both entered not-guilty pleas.

Investigators found Morrison's body with around 40 wounds and blood spatter throughout the house. The court was also told the parties had been using illicit drugs, and Glover alleged that Sorgiovanni exerted control over her, prompting the attack.

Why it matters

The case highlights how covert recordings can shape murder trials and expose alleged abuse within criminal partnerships.
