Instagram adds option to showcase tagged posts on your main profile grid
Instagram now allows users to promote photos they’re tagged in to appear on their primary profile grid.
Instagram has introduced a tool for moving tagged photos onto a user’s primary profile grid, giving more control over displayed content. The option is accessible from the direct-message tag alert, the three-dot menu on the post, or by holding a picture in the Tagged tab. After selecting "Add to grid," the post’s visibility respects the privacy rules of both the tagging and tagged accounts.
Users can later detach the image without erasing it entirely. All added items initially line up in reverse-chronological order, though the grid can be reordered to suit personal aesthetics. This follows Instagram’s earlier rollout that allowed post reordering across the entire profile. The feature is aimed at highlighting group shots, collaborations and memorable moments.
Why it matters
It gives Instagram users more flexibility to curate their public profile and highlight shared moments.
