Instapaper rolls out major redesign and new features across platforms

The read-later service Instapaper has launched its most extensive update yet, adding a three-column web layout, keyboard shortcuts, multi-select tools and a refreshed mobile interface.

Instapaper, one of the longest-running read-later applications, unveiled its biggest upgrade in years, revamping both its web and mobile experiences. The web platform now uses an elegant three-column layout that keeps the article list, reading pane and controls visible on wide displays, complemented by on-screen keyboard shortcut reminders and a new multi-select capability for bulk actions. iOS received a full “Liquid Glass” visual refresh, additional font selections and refined section sorting, while Android users gained access to the AI Voices feature that reads saved articles aloud.

The service continues to offer unlimited free saves, with a premium tier priced at $6 per month or $60 annually that removes ads, adds a search tool, Kindle support and audio playback. Existing synchronization across devices remains seamless, and the update aims to make catching up on long reading queues easier for busy users.

Why it matters

The upgrade improves usability and adds audio reading, helping users manage growing online content more efficiently.
