Inter and AC Milan lock in €354 million to launch new San Siro stadium

Inter Milan and AC Milan have finalized a €354 million financing package provided by leading international banks through the vehicle San Siro Spa, following their recent purchase of the San Siro site. Construction of the replacement stadium is expected to commence in October 2027 and last roughly 36 months, aiming for a finish date in October 2030 and an inauguration between December 2030 and January 2031. Ownership groups Oaktree (Inter) and RedBird (Milan) will play key supervisory roles, while architectural firms Foster + Partners and Manica are handling design.

The clubs plan to unveil a comprehensive implementation plan in February, detailing construction phases and specifications. The new venue is intended to be a modern, multi-purpose arena that can rival Europe’s top stadiums, while the teams continue to share the current Meazza for the derby. With financing secured and the land purchase completed, the next milestone is confirming the 2027 start date.
