Interior Ministry unveils proposal to ease workload for police and administrative staff

Gábor Pósfai, Hungary's interior minister, posted on Facebook that his ministry has prepared a comprehensive reform package containing roughly thirty legislative tweaks. The core of the plan is to cut unnecessary bureaucracy and improve the sense of appreciation among interior-affairs personnel. Specific measures include increasing the statutory vacation days for the police administrative workforce (RIASZ) and granting them the same compensation for sick-leave absences as other staff.

The minister emphasized that the reforms aim to close the inequitable gaps that have developed between various employee categories. He added that the proposals consider the needs of professional officers, administrative employees and broader labor groups alike. Detailed explanations of the amendments will be shared in collaboration with the Police State Secretariat in the near future.
