Interpol-wanted Russian shooter arrested in Lisbon after arriving from Tel Aviv

Authorities in Portugal arrested a 62-year-old Russian national who has been on Interpol’s wanted list since 2013 for a shooting that caused severe injury to a victim. The man entered Lisbon airport on a flight from Tel Aviv, initially presenting an identity linked to a persistent international alias, which required extensive verification by the Direção Nacional da PSP. After confirming the validity of the detention request through international police cooperation, the PSP detained the suspect.

He was transferred to police facilities and is scheduled to appear before the Tribunal da Relação de Lisboa to determine extradition. The case carries a potential prison term of up to ten years. The operation highlights cross-border law-enforcement collaboration.
