Investigation into Giorgos Mazonakis' death focuses on alleged drug administration at Karneadou clinic

A criminal investigation into the death of Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis is underway at the clinic on Karneadou street. The 32nd regular prosecutor has taken statements from several clinic employees, including a secretary and a nurse who alleges that the accused physician administered a sedative to Mazonakis, a claim the doctor denied in her testimony. The next phase will involve analyzing toxicology findings to confirm the presence and identity of any substance in Mazonakis' body and to assess any link to the fatal event.

Prosecutors have also seized five mobile phones belonging to the two doctors and other staff, and are seeking court approval to lift the phones' confidentiality. The outcome of the toxicology report will influence the defense strategy of the accused doctor and could affect her continued representation.
