IOIPG Malaysia REIT Secures Six-Bank Underwriting Deal for Main Market IPO
IOIPG Malaysia REIT has signed an underwriting agreement with six banks to support its upcoming main-market IPO on Bursa Malaysia.
IOIPG Malaysia Real Estate Investment Trust announced that it has executed an underwriting agreement with a consortium of six financial institutions to back its planned listing on Bursa Malaysia’s Main Market. The agreement, signed by IOIPG REIT Management Sdn Bhd, sponsor IOI Properties Group Bhd and trustee MTrustee Bhd, involves Maybank Investment Bank, AmInvestment Bank, CIMB Investment Bank, Hong Leong Investment Bank, RHB Investment Bank and UOB Kay Hian (M) Sdn Bhd.
The syndicate will underwrite 165 million offer units within a total offering of up to 2.20 billion units, comprising a retail tranche of 715.61 million units and an institutional tranche of up to 1.48 billion units. A prospectus is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. CEO Chris Chong said the agreement marks a key step toward listing and cited Malaysia’s robust tourism recovery—projected to generate RM323 billion and 47 million arrivals in 2026—as supportive of the REIT’s portfolio of nine assets, including IOI City Mall, six Marriott-branded hotels and two office towers.
Why it matters
The underwriting agreement advances the REIT toward a public listing, opening investment to Malaysia's expanding tourism-driven property sector.
