IOM reports nearly 16,000 Yemenis displaced in a single week of fighting

The International Organization for Migration says about 16,000 people were forced to flee their homes in Yemen over the past week as hostilities continue.

According to the IOM, the latest wave of conflict has pushed roughly 16,000 Yemenis from their homes in just seven days. Since June, displacement across eight governorates has reached 145,308 individuals, representing about 24,218 households. IOM chief of mission Abdusattor Esoev highlighted the vulnerability of families, elders and children left without shelter, food or protection. He urged a rapid humanitarian response to meet these urgent needs.
