Iowa offensive linemen Trevor Lauck and Kade Pieper land on Lombardi Award watch list

As Iowa football looks ahead to its 2026 campaign, senior offensive linemen Trevor Lauck and Kade Pieper have been named to the Lombardi Award watch list, which recognizes the college lineman or linebacker who best reflects Vince Lombardi’s values of character, discipline and excellence. Pieper, a 6-foot-3, 298-pound guard from Norfolk, Nebraska, entered the season as a preseason first-team All-American by Walter Camp, Sporting News and Athlon, after starting all 13 games at right guard last season and earning first-team All-America honors from Pro Football Focus.

Lauck, a 6-foot-5, 314-pound left tackle from Indianapolis, also started every game in 2025 and was a third-team All-Big Ten selection by the league’s coaches. Both players were key to Iowa’s 2025 Joe Moore Award win, as the Hawkeyes outrushed opponents in nine of 13 games and posted a fifth-nation-wide average time-to-pressure of 2.8 seconds. The Lombardi Award winner will be announced in December, and Iowa opens its 2026 schedule on Sept. 5 against Northern Illinois at Kinnick Stadium.
