Iran warns Tehran attack could trigger strike on nine US allies

A senior Iranian adviser said that if Tehran is hit again, Iran would target nine U.S.-aligned countries in the region.

Iranian adviser Mohammad Mohbar, a conservative figure, cautioned that a second attack on Tehran's military or petrochemical facilities would lead Iran to strike nine countries that cooperate with the United States in the Middle East. Tasnim, a semi-official news outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards, published the remarks without listing the targeted nations. In a related comment, Revolutionary Guard representative Hossein Mohebbi said that the majority of American bases in the area are currently non-operational and that U.S. troops have been repositioned several hundred kilometres from Iran.

He argued that the United States, having entered the war with full force, can no longer afford a new conflict that offers no benefit. The remarks also referenced speculation about President Trump possibly avoiding attacks on Iran before upcoming elections, though future actions remain uncertain.

Why it matters

The warning signals heightened regional tension and the risk of a broader conflict involving multiple U.S. allies.
