After premiering in the Horizons slate at the Venice Film Festival, Mohsen Gharaei’s “Falling House” attracted European buyers. Paradise City Sales announced contracts with Jokers Films (France), Wanted Cinema (Italy) and Karma Films (Spain), while talks continue in other markets. The film’s teaser highlights a tense family drama set against Tehran’s redevelopment plans and a suspended prison guard’s crisis. starring Farhad Aslani, Laleh Marzban, Rima Raminfar and Elena Khakbazan, the story explores themes of lost freedom and patriarchal oppression.
Jokers Films linked the work to a tradition of Iranian protest cinema, and Wanted Cinema’s CEO praised its inter-generational focus on women’s struggle for liberty. Production credits include Milad Khosravi, Odessa Rae and several co-producers from Germany and Belgium.
