Iranian embassy posts Minesweeper video daring US to confront Tehran in Hormuz

Iran’s diplomatic representation in Sierra Leone uploaded an animated video that overlays a Minesweeper game on a three-dimensional map of the Strait of Hormuz, captioned with a challenge to the United States. The message, “Habibi (Uncle Sam), come to Iran!”, was issued after President Donald Trump asserted that US forces had removed Iranian mines and were safely escorting oil tankers through the channel. Recent weeks have seen an escalation, including a US strike on Iranian rocket launchers on a Hormuz island, which Tehran said were intended for mine deployment.

In retaliation, Iran launched ballistic missiles at two US-linked sites in Jordan, claiming heavy damage, though Jordan’s army reported intercepting eight missiles. US Central Command later said its follow-up attacks targeted IRGC air-defense, radar, maritime assets and mine-laying capabilities, while Iranian state media alleged a civilian wedding was hit. The exchange underscores the ongoing six-month US-Iran confrontation centered on preventing Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
