Iranian Revolutionary Guard says it struck LNG carrier NV Sunshine for illegal Hormuz passage
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it fired on the LNG tanker NV Sunshine, owned by NatWit, after the vessel attempted an unauthorized route through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Revolutionary Guard announced that it engaged the liquefied natural gas carrier NV Sunshine of NatWit for trying to transit the Strait of Hormuz via a prohibited path, asserting control over the waterway and carrying out the strike a few hours earlier. Earlier, maritime monitors reported an unknown projectile igniting a fire on another ship in UAE waters, which the security firm Vanguard identified as the Panama-flagged tanker GEM NO.2.
