IRGC Deputy Commander Warns Iran Will Ban Regional Oil Exports If Its Own Are Halted

IRGC deputy political commander Aziz Ghazanfari said Iran would stop all oil shipments from other regional countries if Tehran’s own exports were halted.

Aziz Ghazanfari, the deputy political commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, warned that Iran would block oil exports from any neighboring state should its own oil flow be stopped. He emphasized that the Hormuz Strait is under the Guard’s complete surveillance and urged tighter control of the waterway to reinforce security and deterrence. Ghazanfari argued that uncertainty in Iran would spill over, creating instability across the region.

Why it matters
