IRGC says it fired on a US Saildrone surface drone in Hormuz
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it targeted a US-operated Saildrone Explorer-type unmanned surface vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC released a statement claiming its navy engaged a US unmanned surface drone near the Hormuz waterway. The vessel, a Saildrone Explorer, is reportedly used by the US Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain for data collection. Iran also said it had recently captured a US underwater drone, while the US military reported a malfunction in one of its subsurface drones.
