Aine O’Neill, a blonde Irish TV host aiming for a Hollywood career, says she was terrorized by a stalker who placed an Apple AirTag in her vehicle, triggering constant location notifications on her iPhone. After alerting the LAPD and Apple, officials indicated they could not act without the device, and a Pep Boys shop could not find it either. A second garage offered an expensive full-car disassembly, which O’Neill could not afford.
The ongoing alerts led to panic attacks, missed work, and the loss of a potential recurring role on "The Rookie." She eventually sold her car, fled back to Ireland, and is now suing Apple for unspecified damages.
