Irvine suspect linked to Chino Hills murder identified as former coworker
Police say 67-year-old Zhengfeng Bo, who knew victim Shukur Aikebaer from a prior job, shot and killed him during a kidnapping before being killed by deputies.
Authorities with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department disclosed that 67-year-old Irvine resident Zhengfeng Bo, who previously worked with 60-year-old Shukur Aikebaer, shot the victim after a kidnapping on July 29 in Chino Hills. The incident began when the suspects’ vehicle entered Aikebaer’s driveway, cut power to his house, and forced him to investigate the outage. After a 911 call reported gunshots, police pursued the suspects, leading to a standoff in which Bo fired at Aikebaer and was subsequently shot dead by deputies.
The accomplice, 66-year-old Jianquan Bo, surrendered and is now held at West Valley Detention Center on murder and kidnapping charges without bail. A joint search of the duo’s home uncovered further evidence, and the case will be forwarded to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
