Israel Katz denies any pre-election strike plans against Iran
Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel has not started and will not start a military campaign against Iran before the upcoming Knesset election.
Israel Katz told Channel 11’s Ayala Hasson that neither he nor Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have initiated, nor plan to initiate, any military operation against Iran before the Knesset election on Oct. 27. He dismissed opposition allegations as invented and warned that adversaries could attempt strikes or terror attacks to sway the vote. Katz emphasized that Israeli intelligence is monitoring these risks and that the Israel Defense Forces stand prepared with preventive measures and strong retaliation if needed.
He criticized the opposition for not supporting the government’s security stance. Katz added that the election outcome will determine whether Israel finishes its campaign to topple the Iranian regime, stating that about 80-90 % of the objective has already been achieved.
Why it matters
