Israel Police mobilize thousands of officers across the country for High Holidays

The Israel Police confirmed that thousands of officers, along with Border Police personnel and volunteers, will be positioned throughout the nation during the High Holidays, which begin on Friday and conclude after Simchat Torah on Oct. 3. Deployment sites include holy places, worship centers, key roads, parks and venues for leisure activities, with forces operating from air, sea and ground to ensure rapid response to any irregularity.

Authorities warned of heavy traffic and heightened activity at shopping centers, urging drivers to leave early, follow police instructions and refrain from speeding or using mobile phones while driving. Citizens are asked to report any suspicious incidents to the emergency hotline (100) or call 110 for further details. The police emphasized that officers will be active even while families gather for holiday meals, aiming to keep everyone safe throughout the celebrations. The announcement follows a recent surprise nationwide drill by the Israel Defense Forces and a prior police exercise in the north and central regions to test readiness for terrorist attacks and civilian emergencies.
